Day 10 Block 2
Our whole group met today. We were supposed to meet on Friday but I could not finish my animations. I managed to finish the characters by today and we met at BB’s place to do the voice-overs that were needed for the entire video.
The only problem we encountered was that one part, Dr MOI’s speech, had it’s script changed. As such, we had to rewrite the script, which was done in no time, and then we had to make the actions match the audio. Initially, Clarissa was supposed to be the voice of Dr MOI. But after both she and Andrea tried doing the voice, they decided that I would do the voice of Dr MOI.
Clarissa has solved her animation problem. I’m glad she’s able to work on her animation part now. Everything’s going well so far. Keep it up News 6.

Getting tired..
Day 9 Block 2
I didn’t manage to complete the second character yesterday. Honestly, I am growing tired of staring at the computer screen.
Animating is really tedious, especially since I prefer animating frame by frame as opposed to animating using motion/shape tweens. I am afraid that I might use them wrongly and in turn impede my progress or worse still, screw up my whole animation file.
Oh well, I guess we’ll just have to approach this the old school way. Drawing every frame manually.
It seems Clarissa is having trouble with her animation. I would have helped her out, but I have yet to complete my own animations. Am I failing as head of animation? Hopefully Clarissa will solve the problems she’s having with her animations.

One character done
Day 8 Block 2
We continued to work on our animations. I have finished one character, and am moving on to the next.
I have decided that all my characters will have different personalities. Therefore, the way each of them moves will be different in a way. Subtly though, since they are more or less the same. I am trying to be very vague here, as I do not want to spoil the surprise. But when you see it in our video you’ll understand what I’m talking about.
Today I thought about whether I still want to specialise in animation. Well, I’ve had lots of fun filming and setting up the lights and stuff together with BB. And now, I’m thinking if animation is what I really want. I shall think about it overnight. After all it’s not a decision that has to be made now.

Start of Post-production
Day 7 Block 2
Today A-team spent time at home to work on our animations. As head of A-team, I delegated the work of different animations to the other members of my team. I made sure that each member got assigned an animation that she was comfortable with doing, gave them some pointers on how they might want to start out on them, and they were on their way. I too had animations to do.
Andrea told me that our footage was great and that the Joel segment was really funny. I can’t wait to watch it on Friday.
I started on my animation. I have decided on doing 3 characters. Today I shall start with one.
As the head of A-team I feel I need to be patient and answer the queries of my other group members, also I must be ready to give up some time to assist them with anything they are unsure about. Somehow, I feel that I have failed to do so at times. Nonetheless, I shall try harder. I will learn to be a better leader.

Day of Rest
Day 6 Block 2
Today was kind of a rest day for us. V-team was uploading footage to computer. I started to do some sketched of the keyframes of my animation. I have decided on the answers to the questions I have posed myself earlier on in my production diary.
Since there’s nothing much to talk about today, I shall do some reflection.
It seems that Project 1 changes people. Be it for better or for worse. Some people become more defensive of themselves, others keep to themselves more. Some get unreasonable and some just try to pretend everything’s going fine. Me? I’d say I keep to myself more. It’s not so much of ‘I don’t want to share my ideas with you, in case you steal them’. But more of keeping everything a secret kind of adds to the surprise people get when they finally get to see our work. However it is people are changing due to Project 1, I know it’s due to the stress, and we’ll all be fine once it’s over.
So just hang in there everyone. Not just my group members, but the whole MOI year 1 cohort too. (:

The One Woman Show
Day 5 Block 2
Today we spent the whole day filming Andrea. It was mentally and physically draining for all of us, not to mention Andrea herself. But whatever it is, we have completed filming. Well done everyone!
We had Joel over as a special guest today. I must say, his segment of the show was SUPER funny. We came up with lots of comical ideas on the spot and the final outcome was well.. SUPERB. I’d like to thank Joel a lot, I know that his group isn’t doing too well, but still he manages to find time to help us out. THANK YOU JOEL. We are very grateful, I’m sure of that.
We had lunch together today, and we chatted about random stuff like weddings. I really feel that our group has bonded a lot through Project 1. I really like working with them.
Production is over, time for Post-production. Hope everything goes smoothly. Right now I’m thinking of all the animations that are needed for the entire video. What is the best way to do them and how we can achieve it.

Animate the World through Animations
Day 4 Block 2
Today’s filming was done in the TV studio. I met Boon Bin at his house and took a lift on his father’s lorry. When we got there I helped Boon Bin set up the lighting in the studio. I enjoy watching him set-up the lighting, and even more so being part of setting it up. Why? Because eventually, it always turns out to look fantastic. I am so very thankful to have Boon Bin as a group member, as he teaches me a lot about setting up and handling the camera, not just doing everything on his own.
When everyone arrived, we started shooting. I must say, I am very proud of my group. We work like a well oiled machine. We get along well, work well together, and have fun while we work. I have been hearing that many groups are having internal disagreements and boy am I glad it isn’t happening to my group.
We finished up the advert and cleared the studio to the liking of the next group that was waiting to use the TV studio. I am proud that we as a group are a tolerant bunch of people and we do not throw our temper. Good Job guys. (:
That was all for today. Tomorrow, we will be filming all of Anchor Andrea’s scenes. Please take care of yourself Andrea, we need you to have your voice tomorrow.
