Day 17 Block 2
We settled storyboard and completed the production package. We burnt a DVD for Alfie and dropped everything off in the MOI P1 box outside the lecturer’s office on level 4.
I have had an enjoyable journey through Project 1. I think all my group members have been great, and I can never seem to overemphasize that. We have worked well as a group and stuck together till the end.
Thank you members of News 6. I would very much look forward to working with you guys again.

It's Done, The Screening
Day 16 Block 2
I think there’s something wrong with my day count. Oh well.
It’s finally over! Somewhat. Today, the whole cohort had a screening of our videos. I stayed over at BB’s because by the time we were done editing, it was too late for public transport home. Went home in the early morning, managed to get a few hours of sleep. Two to be exact. And made my way down to school.
In school, we had some problem exporting our video into the tape. But thanks to Lionel, we solved the problem and were ready for presentation.
The presentation was fantastic. Seeing all the ideas that my course mates came up with was very refreshing. I appreciated all of them, as I understood the hardships they went through to produce their final video. A few videos however, caught my attention.
The one that was most impressive was the Crewsades, inc. video. Also known as Raj’s group. The animation in their video was awesome. Not to mention the music that went along. Snap had good animations too. I liked their credits, where the names were in the shape of footprints, and the paint would drip down. I also like Yuan’s group. For some reason, I found their video very entertaining. I liked Sholleh’s video too. I feel they had some very good footage, but it was a pity they decided to fast forward the front part of the video. It would have looked better if they edited it in another way.
I am proud of my group’s video too. It felt really good when everyone laughed throughout the video. I guess the audience didn’t get bored with it.
Overall, I think everyone did a great job. Commendable work.
Our work on the other hand is not yet done. We still have to settle the production package. Yvonne has been assigned the job of collating the works to produce the production package. Storyboard is yet to be settled. We’re meeting tomorrow to finish everything up. But now, sleep first.

The Last Day.
Day 15 Block 2
Today is the last day. Tomorrow our video will be screened for the whole cohort to see. I’ve stayed up the whole night since yesterday to COMPLETE the credits. I’d say I feel a great sense of accomplishment.
I got some rest in the afternoon. In the evening I went out to BB’s house again. It seems I’ve been visiting his house everyday now.
He wasn’t home when I got there, but his mum let me in. I started working on the nameplates. I must say, I fell asleep a couple of times. I feel really tired. Fortunately BB offered me coffee when he got back.
Andrea came over too, to make sure everything was set and in order. Unfortunately, she encountered some problems with her animation. So I am doing the animation for her instead. I should have been more responsible and finished it earlier instead of resting so much. Anyway, since Andrea was so helpful as to offer to help me with the animation, I don’t see why I shouldn’t help her now that I have finished my other work. After all, group members should help each other out right?
I’m currently putting the ending part of the video together on After Effects. Trying to lighten the load for BB, so that he wouldn’t need to edit so much. I have been teasing Andrea about not being able to do the flash that she wanted to help me with. I hope she doesn’t take it to heart.
Whatever it is, I feel honoured to have had this chance to work with all of you, all my group members. Project 1 has indeed been a fruitful journey. I have been through a lot, and learnt a lot. Thank you everyone. (:

The Final Sprint.
Day 14 Block 2
We have done a lot over the weekend. Here’s a recount.
On Saturday:
After Andrea and I were done with our SA event, we met up with BB and Yvonne who were already in school filming the intro to our video. After that we went over to my place to shoot a replacement havoc scene. This was not planned in the storyboards in the beginning. But it was a idea that we came up with half way through post-production. I’m glad my group is flexible as I think this scene would turn out much better than the one we intended to use.
When we finished shooting that havoc scene, we played back the tape and realized that the camera head was dirty. We lost all the footage shot on that day, including the intro shot in school. Despite the loss, we re-shot the havoc scene, and Andrea planned a contingency for the intro shot. There you have it, the flexibility of our group in action again.
On Sunday:
Andrea and I went over to Boon Bin’s house again on Sunday, after we attended church. We spent our day there helping him with the editing. Clarissa came over too.
After Andrea and Clarissa went off, Boon Bin and I did voice-over for our part of the video. We redid it as BB felt that the first one we did sounded fake. The new one sounded much better. I gave BB tips on how to sound more natural.
For today, we met as a group to check on the progress of the video so far. I must say Boon Bin has been doing a wonderful job in this group so far. His efforts are greatly appreciated. I shared my idea for the credits with the group. They agreed on it and I started working. We discussed about our video and made final decisions on how it would turn out. Andrea decided to help me out with my incomplete animation, while I work on animating the credits.
Thank you Andrea, your help is much valued. (:

Interim Assessment
Day 13 Block 2
Today, we had an interim assessment. We came to school with what we had completed so far.
Personally, I felt quite nervous. I feel that we are a little behind time. When we showed Alfie our video, he initially had doubts about whether we could finish on time. But BB assured him that there were only minor things that need to be added in. after being reassured by BB, Alfie started laughing at our video, and 2-3 minute through, he made us stop it.
Fortunately, it wasn’t because our video was horrendous, but instead, he felt it was really funny, the way we revealed our portfolio works. He said he wanted to be surprised and watch the video as a whole when it was completed. Since our video is a little longer than others, hopefully we can maintain the lighthearted feel throughout the entire video.
After that assessment, I guess the whole group felt really good. All our hard work is paying off. Morale is up. (:
We decided on meeting up on Saturday to finish up a scene we forgot to shoot.

Can I make it on time?
Day 12 Block 2
Doing animations again today. Our group did not meet up, but I’m sure everyone is busy with their work.
Trying hard to concentrate on completing my animations. I can’t help wondering if I can even finish it all in time for it to be included in the video. I must say, I am getting quite worried. Should I just scrap the idea of certain animations as a whole
To do that I’d need the group’s consent. So until then, I guess I’ll have to try my best and give it my 100%.
Hope everyone is doing well, keeping healthy.

How long has it been?
Day 11 Block 2
We didn’t meet up today. Went about finishing my remaining animations.
Somehow, I have been starting to lose track of time. How long have we been in post-production? To me it seems like forever. I haven’t seen my course mates in a long while. Kind of miss spending time in school together with them.
On the other hand, I enjoy working with my group. My group has been holding up very well, this late into Project 1. I am proud to say we have not argued since day one. That is something I am very proud of. I think everyone has done a great job. Yvonne and Rina have been very helpful in the production days. Boon Bin has been very very committed to Project 1, he has taught me a lot. Clarissa has been very constructive, feeding us comments and helping our group improve on ideas. Andrea has been a great leader. She has organised the group very well. Planned our schedule and made sure we keep to it.
I am very proud of everyone, and I feel very fortunate to be part of this group.
